Graduate Sports Therapist
I’m a newly graduated Sport Therapist SST kick starting her career in the big wide world of injuries! Got issues with your tissues I’m the person to call! *entertaining quote found by friend*
I graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a Sport Therapy degree and completed the 3 years of training, during these 3 years of training I have taken every opportunity that was offered to me. I have provided pitchside assistance for men’s rugby, which took me to Twickenham in 2016, football and women’s football as well as children’s tournaments. So if you’ve seen a physio with a grey bobble hat, fluffy socks and a bum bag while watching sport with friends or family you’ve probably seen me about!! But presently I support Cheltenham Town Ladies First Team as part of the medical team.
As I am a sport person myself I enjoy expanding my knowledge about the body and how and why it works the way it does, this way I can use my knowledge to help others. I swam competitively for 10 years from 2005-2015 and experienced a lot of shoulder injuries and I have been there from day 1 all the way through to the end of my last day of rehab. When I started University I found a new passion for team sports in which I found Lacrosse and have competed in many BUCS competitions, as well as women’s football, not necessarily playing but medically supporting teams. Observing and pitchsiding for women’s football has created an interest for me in knee injuries, knee injuries can occur from contact or can be caused by problems at the hips or the ankle, especially in women, and present themselves as puzzles which keep me on my toes and spark my interest.
I also work in another clinic alongside NM Sport Therapy to keep myself busy and up to date with all the current research and treatments, to give my patients the best possible care to get them back doing what they love!
